“Hello, and Welcome to WISE – the Welsh Initiative for Supported Employment”
“Supported means that WISE will give you all the help you need to get and keep a job.”
“Employment means that WISE will be looking for a real job for you. At your first meeting at WISE you will meet with your employment consultant whose job is to arrange your training in the workplace.”
“They will talk to you in a friendly way and give you plenty of opportunity to tell them about:-
“Work or training you may have done, what you did at school or college and what skills you have, and what kind of work you may be interested in.”
“All this information helps them to build up a picture of you and what kind of work would suit you best.”
“At every stage of your service from WISE you will be asked what you want to do, and what type of work you want to aim for. After each placement you will decide what to do next. Your employment consultant will advise you about suitable jobs but it is up to you to decide what you want do.”
“It would be helpful if you could think about the kind of work you would like before the meeting, and we look forward to meeting you soon.”
