Joe lives at home with his brother, who’s called Peter.
Joe has his own room here, where he likes to make plans for a Jazz band.
Joe is very happy living with his brother Peter, but sometimes it is nice for Joe to have a break and it is good for Peter to have a break too.
Today Peter is taking Joe to meet a family. They might be the family that gives Adult Family Placement to Joe.
Some-people go to stay with a family for a night or two and then they come home again, it’s like a holiday.
This is Gordon and Pat, Gordon and Pat have passed all the test for adult family placement.
Joe might come and stay with Pat and Gordon from time to time. Joe will have his own room here where he can put all the things he brings from home.
It is very important that Joe is happy in Adult Family Placement so they all sit down to talk about the things that Joe likes to eat and do.
Pat asks “Right Joe, what would you like for your breakfast”, Joe responds “slimming”, Peter says “slimming cereals, special K, but he is not keen on healthy things”.
Gordon asks “Does Joe go to any clubs?” Joe responds “Yeah”.
Adult family placement is a great scheme and it means so very much to the people who use it and to the carer’s too.
