What is the Adult Family Placement Scheme?
Adult Family Placement is the provision of accommodation and support for adults, over the age of 19, who have a learning disability. The accommodation is in the homes of specially recruited families living in the local community. These families have to be approved by the Scheme and are also given training to help them to provide a good service.
Approved Adult Family Placement (AFP) Carers welcome Service Users into their families as part of their household and provide appropriate support for a standard fee.
The Adult Family Placement Scheme will make sure that both the Carer and the Service User receive support and help through regular contact, placement review and Carer approval.
The Scheme is registered by the Carer Standards Inspectorate for Wales.
