3. Information about My Tenancy
In this section is information about:
- My home and Landlord.
- My rights and responsibilities as a Tenant.
- Making it my home.
This is also the place where I can put information provided for me by my Landlord.
This will include:
- My Tenancy Agreement.
- My Tenant’s Guarantee.
My Landlord should also provide me information about:
- Who the Landlord is.
- The Rent and any Service Charges that they make.
- How they will repair and look after my home.
- How I can ask for another home from them.
I can also use this section to keep a record of any requests that I have made to my landlord and any concerns or complaints that I have made to them.
My Participation Agreements
I can also keep any letters I have written to my Landlord and any letters that they have written to me.
Housing Support Co-ordinators and my staff will help me to understand this information and make the most of my rights as a Tenant.
My home and Landlord
I live in my own house or flat. I have a right to be secure and safe in my home.
I also a right to have my own key to the door, unless it is agreed that is unsafe for me.

These are my Rights as a Tenant:
I can have my own key, if it is safe for me to do so.
I can have privacy in my home
I can invite friends & family to visit my home.
I can choose some of the paint, wallpaper and furniture for my home.
I should have repairs carried out promptly.
I should be safe in my home.
I can move if I want to.
I can make a complaint if I am unhappy about my home or the people I live with.
I should not to be upset or frightened by anyone else in my own home.
I can have a say about the service I receive from the Consortium and decisions which affect my life
These are my Responsibilities as a tenant:
I must pay rent promptly.


Me or my guests must not annoy, upset or frighten other people in my home.
I must not damage the property in any way.
I must not do anything in my home, which breaks the law
I must keep the interior of my home and the furniture, fixtures and fittings in a good and clean condition.
I must pay for any damage caused by me or my guests.
I must allow access to the Landlord as and when required (you will always be contacted beforehand if the Consortium or your landlord need to enter your flat for any reason).
I must accept the support that I need to keep my Tenancy.
Making it My Home
Because I have a tenancy agreement and pay rent it means that the place I live is MY home. I might live on my own or with other people.
I must be able to have a say about the things that happen in my home, and agree some rules if I live with other people.
I will also want to agree rules for the staff who support me.
I can agree rules with the people I live with and staff who support me by using the:
Tenants’ House Rules Agreement
Some rules I might want to agree with the PEOPLE I LIVE WITH are:
- How we will pay for our bills.
- How we will pay and sort our food out.
- We should keep out of each other’s rooms unless invited in.
- If we have visitors we should not be disturbed;
- We will meet together to have a House Meeting on a regular basis to talk about how every thing is going. We can decide how often we want to meet.
Some rules I might want to agree with the STAFF WHO SUPPORT ME are:
- Staff must not invite other people into my house without asking me or the other people I live with.
- Staff will buy their own food and keep it separate to ours.
- Not all staff will have a key to my home.
- Staff will not hold meetings in my house.
